Katalin Tóth's Curriculum Vitae in English and Hungarian because I am Hungarian. My name is Katalin Tóth. My family name is Tóth. I was born in 1960. I was a Hungarian-English-Russian secondary school teacher. I am retired now. I have suffered from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, but now I have no symptoms. I mainly like to draw, but I also work with other techniques. I'm an amateur draftsman, I don't have that kind of education. At the same time, I received a lot from the leaders of the drawing department of the Ébredések Alapítvány (Awakening Foundation) in Budapest and the art therapists of the Tárt Kapu Gallery in Budapest, as well as my colleagues. I participated in all of our group exhibitions with some pictures. Last year I had my first solo exhibition at the Tárt Kapu Gallery, Hőgyes utca 2, Budapest.
The artists' stories
"The Vibrant Mind" is an art contest that celebrates artistic expression from individuals with mental health conditions. By focusing on the artists' work rather than their various diagnoses, it hopes to promote a stigma-free and inclusive environment.
That being said, the participants were given the option to share their background stories if they wished to do so.
